San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas

Great American SW road trip

I've always wanted to do a tour of the great Southwest. I think' I've found an itinerary that will quench the thirst of an artsy, adventure seeking, awe inspired photo takers and still enjoy the luxuries of the 21st century eventually during the expedition.

Starting out in San Francisco, the land of trolly's and and hills and the big bridge, it's a nice way to warm up to a long trip with friends. A great way to start of the adventure with a bang, partying at night at the Castro District and appreciate the beauty of an awesome city. Who doesn't love San Francisco?

The first part of this leg will be to embark on a drive through cow country in Northern California and end up in Beautiful Mariposa county where One of the world's most beautiful view can be found, The Yosemite National Park. Pay homage to Ansel Adams and visit 1 or two water falls.

Camp out in Yosemite, enjoy the quietness of the evening and rest amongst the worlds largest pines.

A night in the wilderness should be enough for these urban adventurers.

The next morning deserves a decent scrambling up a few more hiking trails and then drive out to Death Valley on the way to Las Vegas. Death Valley is a decent 6 hour drive away. So if timed right, we should arrive at Death Valley an hour and a half before sunset. This keeps the temperatures lower and the photos to be taken much more beautiful.

Arrive in Las Vegas well into the night, maybe catch a quick dinner somewhere or at home, retire and recharge for the rest of the week.

The day next is a chance to sleep in, and relax. Have some home cooked meals and basically enjoy bbq weather. After which, enjoy an easy stroll along the strip to see Las Vegas. Catch Happy hour, hit the sack early and then hit the ground running the next day to Utah.

Desination is Zion National Park. A leasurely 2 hour drive from Las Vegas. We can take advantage of the bus tour offered in the park. In the afternoon, a drive to Page, AZ should follow, in order to get a glimpse of the Horse Shoe bend of the Colorado river and the Grand Canyon.

That night, retire in a motel to get ready for an early morning assault of the Grand Canyon - try to catch the sunset and go on a little hike. Head home early enough and rest for a weekend of frolicking in Sin city and having fun in the warm sun and the swimming pools.
